About This Product
What Makes the G Series PTO Drive Shaft the Right Choice for Demanding UK Applications?
The G Series PTO drive shaft from Ever Power is built for operators who cannot afford downtime. Whether you are running a large grain farm in Lincolnshire, operating a timber harvesting fleet in Scotland, or managing a construction site in the Midlands, the G Series delivers the torque capacity, joint flexibility, and protection your equipment demands. Designed to meet CE certification requirements applicable across the UK and EU, every shaft in this range undergoes rigorous quality checks before it leaves our 50,000-square-metre manufacturing campus.
Agricultural and industrial professionals across the United Kingdom have come to rely on PTO drive shafts that perform reliably under continuous load, resist the mud and moisture of British field conditions, and fit existing machine interfaces without costly adaptation. The G Series addresses all of these concerns through a combination of high-strength alloy steel yokes, precision-balanced tubes, and double-lip lip seal protection on every guard assembly. The result is a shaft that handles misalignment up to 25 degrees, absorbs shock loads through an integrated friction or shear-bolt torque limiter, and keeps rotating parts safely guarded in compliance with EN ISO 5674:2021.
Available in six torque ratings from the compact G1 through to the heavy-duty G6, the series covers implements from compact tractor-mounted mowers to large combine header drives and industrial rotary mixers. Telescopic spline tubes allow length adjustment from 400 mm to 2,400 mm, and both 1-3/8 inch and 1-3/4 inch spline profiles are stocked as standard, with metric and non-standard profiles available to order. If your application falls outside a catalogue configuration, our engineering team will design a matched shaft within five working days.
Performance Advantages
Why Operators Across the UK Choose the G Series
Torque Capacity to 12,000 Nm
Six size grades handle everything from lightweight PTO implements to heavy industrial drives. Peak torque ratings are tested at full load cycle, not just static holding capacity, so your shaft genuinely performs under real working conditions.
CE-Certified Safety Guards
Full-length plastic guard cones with inner bearing support meet EN ISO 5674:2021. The guard rotates freely on the shaft at all operational speeds, reducing entanglement risk and satisfying UK PUWER regulations for machinery in the workplace.
Integrated Torque Limiter
Choose between friction clutch, ratchet, or shear-bolt torque limiters depending on your application. The limiter disconnects in milliseconds when an obstruction is struck, protecting both the implement gearbox and the tractor PTO from costly damage.
25° Articulation Angle
Wide-angle universal joints on the G4, G5, and G6 models allow up to 80-degree articulation for front-mounted implements and close-coupled drive arrangements. Standard models accommodate 25 degrees, covering the majority of agricultural and industrial linkages.
All-Weather UK Durability
Tubes finished with high-build epoxy primer and polyester topcoat resist salt spray for 480 hours in NSS testing. Universal joint crosses are sealed for life with high-viscosity lithium complex grease, engineered for the damp, cool operating environment typical of British fields.
Fast UK Delivery
Standard G1–G4 shafts ship from bonded stock within 3–5 working days to any UK mainland address. Express air freight on G5 and G6 custom shafts typically delivers within 8 working days from order confirmation, keeping your harvest or production schedule on track.

Materials & Engineering
How the G Series Is Built to Last
🔩 Yokes & Cross Journals
Forged from 20CrMnTi or equivalent EN 10084 case-hardening steel. Carburised and quenched to surface hardness 58–62 HRC with a core hardness of 30–42 HRC, balancing surface wear resistance with toughness under shock loading. Journal crosses are ground to ISO h6 tolerance for precise fit in sealed bearing cups.
🧱 Telescopic Tube
Drawn seamless steel tube manufactured to EN 10305-1, with the inner and outer profiles broached to a precision square or lemon cross-section. The mating surfaces receive a high-lubricity nylon lining on G3–G6, allowing smooth length adjustment even under lateral load without fretting or seizing, a common issue with plain steel-on-steel designs.
🎨 Surface Finishing
Shot-blasted to Sa 2.5, followed by two coats of high-build epoxy primer at 80 µm DFT, then a final polyester topcoat in standard RAL 2000 orange or customer-specified colour. The coating system passes 480 hours neutral salt spray to ISO 9227, meeting the demands of wet arable field operations common in East Anglia, Yorkshire, and the Scottish Borders.
🛡️ Safety Guard
High-density polyethylene guard cones and profile tube are UV-stabilised for long outdoor life. The plastic guard is retained on the implement and tractor yokes by steel safety chain anchors, preventing the guard from becoming a hazard if accidentally detached. All guards include tether chain lugs as standard — a detail required under UK PUWER 1998.

Holtby Agri Services Ltd — Reducing Driveline Failures During Spring Drilling Campaign
Holtby Agri Services operates a fleet of twelve 250 hp+ tractors across 6,000 hectares of mixed arable land in North Yorkshire. Prior to 2023, the business experienced an average of eight PTO shaft failures per spring campaign — seized yokes, cracked tubes, and guard entanglements accounted for roughly 340 hours of unplanned downtime per season. The operations manager contacted us seeking a higher-specification replacement for their standard OEM shafts on John Deere 8R and Fendt 942 units running power harrows and combination drills.
After reviewing their torque logs and operational angles, our engineering team recommended the G3 series with a friction torque limiter set at 2,400 Nm and the nylon-lined telescopic tube for their harrows, and the G4 wide-angle series for their front-mounted seed hopper fans running at higher articulation. Fourteen shafts were supplied to site within six working days.
Through the 2023 and 2024 spring seasons — covering over 12,000 tractor hours — Holtby recorded zero PTO shaft-related stoppages. The estimated saving on labour, parts, and lost contracting revenue across the two seasons exceeded £28,000.

What Our UK Customers Say
“We run G3 shafts on our rented out Lemken power harrows and have not had a single overrun issue in two seasons. The friction limiters are set correctly from the factory and the guards comply with what our hire customers expect under PUWER. Thoroughly recommended.”
James T. — Agricultural Plant Hire, Lincolnshire, UK
“Ordered six G4 wide-angle shafts for our stump grinder fleet operating in Scottish forestry contracts. Lead time was eight days to Aberdeen and the shafts arrived well-packaged with full CE documentation. The build quality is noticeably heavier than our previous supplier.”
Duncan M. — Forestry Contractor, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
“We needed a custom G5 shaft with a non-standard 48×3 splined flange on one end for a concrete mixer drive. The Ever Power team turned around engineering drawings within two days and had shafts on site in under two weeks. Exceptional response time and the shaft has been running fault-free for eight months.”
